A video exploring Ilford, Wanstead and Woodford during the Second World War was released to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day on Friday 8 May 2020.
Redbridge Museum & Heritage Centre has used images, information and stories from those who lived locally to create a moving account of life in the borough during the conflict.
‘Redbridge and the Second World War’ looks at the outbreak of the war, evacuation of local children, the Home Front, contribution of local industries, damaged caused to the local area by air raids, victory celebrations and the bittersweet aftermath of the war.
